Tyner's rebuilding Redmen will rely on a fast break
offense and tight defense to overcome a big disadvantage in height in the coming high school
basketball campaign.
Coach Hal Muncie starting his second year at the Polk Township school, hopes that typical Hoosier "shoot and run" tactics will help make up for the los of most of Tyner's height and scoring punch.
Graduated from last year's 9-12 squad are, Keith Kaiser (6-4), Dick Morris (6-3). and Vic Newberg (6-1).
Muncie expects to build his team around the veteran 3-man nucleus of Senior Gene Holm (5-7) and Juniors Charley Hyndman (5-) and Paul Jacobson (5-3).
Bidding for the rest of the varsity berths is wide open, and Muncie may dip into a fine freshman group which lost only one game in two years as junior high performers.

Freshman Larry Stull (5-11) already has an inside
track for the first team.
Also likely to see action are Sophmore Dave Jacobson, the only six footer, Senior Alfred Lauderbach (5-10), and three senior lettermen, Duane Drake (5-19), Lee Bell (5-8) and John Wolff (5-9).
"We can't make any mistakes." says Muncie, and so far the Redmen have been concentrating on fundamentals and conditioning drills.
Tyner will have plenty of room to run in its new $150,000 gymnasium, which has 70 per cent more floor space than the former Redmen arena.
Unveiling of both the gym and the 1955-56 Tyner Redmen will be in the opening game against West High, Nov. 1st.
