CHORUS

There are 33 members in the Boys Glee Club this year. All of them are going wear white T Shirts with “Boys Glee Club” written across the front.
They are going to sing between sets at the Senior Play. The boys have practice on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Some of the popular songs that the boys are working on are College numbers such as the “Hall of Ivy”.

Basketball practice started on October 2. The returning boys Larry Lemert, Joe Bottorff, Earl Smith, Melvin Jones, Raland Litchenbarger, Bill Kreps, Dana Knoerr, Louis Ecker, Jim Waller and Dick Balke.

The band has some new popular pieces such as:

I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine,

and Piano Roll Blues.
We received several compliments on how well we played “Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy” Wednesday
morning.
We have four new cornet players-Janice and Phyllis Shank and Donna and John Gross and will get two or three more snare drum players soon.
The band will play at the West High game on November 3.
JUNIOR SENIOR MAGAZINE SALES

The Juniors and Seniors have been working diligently on the sale of magazines. We have been selling since October 9 and our time is up this coming Monday October 23.
Jim Waller has sold $127.40 worth of subscriptions. Ronnie Grenert has taken in $96.
Altogether the Seniors have $221.95 and the Juniors $332.65.

LIBRARY NEWS

The Librarians have been busily working--shellacking and preparing over one hundred new books for circulation. The selection of books will please most everyone. There are stories of all kinds including mystery, romance, and adventure.
The boys will like Fellers’s How to Pitch and Jackson’s Tournament Forward. There are books for the girls too--Pretty Please will prove quit interesting.
