FIRST GRADE

The First Grade is very happy; Santa will soon be here. We like our Christmas tree, and we will exchange gifts Friday.

We want to thank Mrs. Long and Mrs. Thompson for our lovely birthday party.

Caroline McNeal has had to miss school for the past two weeks because of illness.

Merry Christmas to all from the First Grade!!

SECOND GRADE

The Second Grade had a lovely birthday party recently. It was in honor of all children who had birthdays in September, October, and November. Thank you, Mrs. Swanson, Mrs. Long, Mrs. Philbrook, Mrs. Shank, and Mrs. Rupel.

In our room we are enjoying a Christmas tree which we decorated ourselves. We also have a manger scene.

Mrs. Strang is helping us with a Christmas secret.

The girls are ahead in our Number ladder race.

Everyone who gets an A in spelling each week in December will have a well trimmed paper Christmas tree to take home.

Many of us came and enjoyed the P.T.A. Christmas Party.

THIRD GRADE NEWS

We are all ready for Christmas. As usual we have our tree with its decorations made by the children in the room. This year we have a fireplace and the children have hung stockings on

PREVIOUS
The room is decorated with three dimensional scenes made in boxes, also made by the children.

This month we have had three birthdays: Dale Haines, Sandra Lidy, and Janet Long.

FOURTH GRADE NEWS

We are all working and planning together to enjoy this pre-Christmas week in our room.

Each child is trying to earn a perfect score in spelling. Twenty seven made a perfect score today. We are hoping and working together to have every child earn an "A"' Friday.

We enjoy singing Christmas carols as the first and second grades pass by our open door in the evening on their way home.

GRADES 5 AND 6 NEWS

The fifth grade were guest of the Sixth at a party in the gym on Wednesday at the last period. This party was the pay-off for the fifth grade winning the spelling contest of the previous twelve weeks.

CORRECTION
We are very sorry we left Mary Patricia Adams' name off the following Thanksgiving poem in the last issue of the Tynerette. She composed the poem.

On Thanksgiving day we have fun and play.

That big turkey on the plate,
But what can we do but be gay on that day.

Oh how hard it is to wait.
