PURDUE LEGISLATURE

Eula Kusener and Richard Von Grabow were elected to be sent from Tyner High School to the Purdue High School Legislature. The purpose of this gathering is to teach the Youth of Indiana how their law-making bodies work. They will vote on bills and participate in discussions on bills concerning current topics of interest to the American people. This year is the seventh time that the Student Legislature has convened at Purdue. Richard is our Senator and Eula is the representative. This is the second time that students from Tyner have participated in this Legislature.

MAGICIAN PROGRAM

On Tuesday, Nov. 15 J.B. Folsner, a magician and hypnotist came and gave an exhibition for the high school. He performed many tricks, which were very interesting as well as mystifying. TheN he hypnotized the crowd in masse by the use of a lemon. Also, he called 10 high school students and performed several feats of individual hypnotism. Then he put all 10 boys to sleep and had them crawling all over the floor picking up imaginary dollar bills and stuffing them in their pockets, much to the hilarity of the students. His final feat was to put John J. in a hypontic state of such muscular stiffness that when he was placed with his head on one chair and his feet on another chair, he was able to support all 190 pounds of the magician with no ill effects.
