First Grade News
We are working hard on spelling, on extra reading reports for special stars.

We enjoyed the music program put on by the Fifth grade and the visit of the pre-school youngsters when they enrolled for next year.

On Monday, May 24th will be the last of the year room party for us. Thank you, Mrs. McGee, Mrs. P. Smiley, and Mrs. N. Klinedinst for the lovely refreshments and help at all special occasions this school year.

Fifth Grade News

The fifth grade has been busy taking achievement tests, finishing up our books and workbooks, and studying for exams.

We are anxiously awaiting our trip day which will be May 25th. We plan to visit WSBT-TV, the museum, Wheelhorse factory, and Rum Village Park in South Bend.

Several people celebrated birthdays this month. "Happy Birthday to:
Nancy Smith
Jon Bormet and
Diane Strang."

Hooray! We finally made it! Twenty-five people made 100's on their final spelling test and we had our first "cookie party" of the year.

Patty Jacobson
Judy Huffman and
Mary Smiley

prepared a puppet play for us in honor of the occasion and the girls decided to show the boys how to play baseball.

Everyone enjoyed the party except Mrs. Welch. She has decided that we'll now need thirty-five 100's to get another coolie party.
Sixth Grade News

The class trip was a big day for everyone. We went through the Academy in the forenoon. The big disappointments was the boat trip we had planned, but were unable to go.
