SENIOR HI-Y ELECTS OFFICERS

The Senior Hi-Y club had its last meeting of the 1962-63 school year May 2, in Room 3 at noon. The only thing on the agenda was the election of officers. They are as follows:

We as a club hope that these new officers will do as good of job as this years officers have done.

We are very glad that Holger Moeller President-Elect, is going to attend the State Hi-Y, Tri-Hi-Y Leadership Training Camp from August 4-10, 1963. It is held at Camp Tecumseh, Delphi, Indiana.

On April 26, the Senior Hi-Y had a party for the Junior and Senior Sunshine girls in the cafeteria.

4-H NEWS

The District I 4-H judging contests were held Saturday, May 4, at Hamlet.

The Entomology judging team, comprised of Bob Jacobson and Loren Berkshire, took first place honors. During the four years of Bob's judging. He has participated in state fair judging competition every year, Loren has gone three years. Both members received perfect scores at this contest.

Joan Morris and Dewey Cowen were members of the Forestry judging team that took second place in the District Contest.


PREVIOUS
BAND AND CHORUS NEWS

The chorus will sing at Baccalaureate May 19, and the band will play at Commencement May 20.

The band is sorry to lose two of their first cornets who are graduating this year.

Everyone is invited to the yearly Spring Concert to be presented by Tyner Band and Chorus May 14, in the school gym.

SUNSHINE NEWS

The Tyner Sunshine Society entertained their Ideal Ladies and Mothers Thursday evening in the school cageteria.

Loretta Kling, delegate to the Indiana Youth Power Conference in Indianapolis and National Youth Power Conference in Chicago, spoke on the subject, "whwt Youth Power Means To Me."

The 1963-1964 officers were installed, they are as follows:

After officers were installed for the following year a group of junior girls ssang "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" and "The Lily of the Valley." The sophomore girls gave a skit and the freshman girls played several selections. Janet Wolff accompanied by Linda Shank sang "Mother."

April Showers was chosen as decorating theme. Refreshments were served to the 200 girls, mother and Ideal Ladies.
