THE TRIP
We were all standing by
In an excited frensey
When down the track came
The 5:40 Pennsy.

We all hurried around gath-
ering up our suitcases
While at the same time giving
Kisses and braces.

As we boarded the train
And left in a hurry
We shouted to our parents
"Don't let us worry."

First night of sleeping
Set the pace
How could you get any sleep
With a foot in your face?

Up early the next morning
With waery legs
We rushed into breakfast
To find scrambled eggs.

So this is New York, the town
That is alive.
Wake up everyone here is the
Class of '65.

Many things were scheduled
That first day in town
Tour of Manhattan Island, three
Hours all around.

Off to the United Nations
A building very wide
The girls liked the color
The boys liked the guide.

A movie and a stage show was
Planned at Music Hall
The movie was for sleeping
The stage show a ball.

The next day was Fair day
On our own for this or that
Many of us bought small gifts
One a sombrero hat.

D.C. D. C. we are now
On our way
Many thrills lie in store
Maybe even LBJ.

PREVIOUS
We traveled all around
From White House to zoo
We still had some energy
For the monuments too.

We visited Mount Vernon where
Washington died
He was buried standing up
TFor he never lied.

The trip back home I heard
Not a peep
by ten that night they were
All fast asleep.

Êhe trip is now over
Graduation near at hand,
I will personally miss you all
You all have been grand.

GOOD LUCK SENIORS

Graduation time! the seniors are ready to take a very big step in their lives. They will find many new things in life, besides books, assignments , and classes. They will belong in the working world, being housewives, farmers, office-workers or teachers, whatever the case may be, they will play an important part in our society. They will not be looked on as just plain ordinary people, but as citizens who are contributing to the world and who are trying to improve their community to make it a better place in which to live.

Many tears will be shed on graduation night. Some of these tears will be for happiness, and some will be because they are leaving their good old school behind.

All of us members of Tyner High School want to wish you Good-luck in the many years to come.
