On Thursday evening, April 19th, we started on our trip to Washington D. C. On
Friday morning we arrived in Washington D.C. From the train we boarded a sight-seeing bus. The first place
we stopped was the Bureau of Engraving. We saw all the money that we would ever need.
Next we went to the Washington Monument. Since there was a long line waiting to ride to the top, most of us started to walk. Some made the top and some turned back
From there we went to the F. B. I. Building. We saw many of the ways that they find criminals.
In the afternoon, we went on a tour through the capital. This was very interesting to us.
In the evening some of us went to a ballgame, while others preferred to see Wash ington by moonlight. we spent a long time in the Ford Theatre, where Lincoln was shot
The next morning, we were up at 7:00, ready for another long day. The first thing we toured along the streets where the ambassadors and ministers live; also, Herbert Hoover, and other noted persons
We arrived at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in time to see them change guards. We took Mt. Vernon Highway to Washington's Home. On the way back we saw the Masonic Hall in honor of Washington. We were very interested in the million dollar rug.
Saturday afternoon, we went to museums and the art galleries.
In the evening, we prepared to leave on the train for a long trip home.
Sunday morning, we arrived back home in Plymouth.
